We are looking for a

postdoc

to work in the research group

“Surface Nanoengineering for chemo- and biosensors” at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences

in the project financed by NSC

Ultralong metallic nanowire waveguides a bridge between the nano- and macroworlds

 

The research in which the candidate is to participate:

The successful candidate will work in the project entitled “Ultralong metallic nanowire waveguides – a bridge between the nano- and macroworlds” The successful candidate will work on optical properties of ultralong metallic nanowires, in particular investigation of plasmonic properties of the obtained metallic nanowires by fluorescence microscopy and their application in sensors.

The successful candidate should fulfil the following criteria:

  • knowledge in optics, fluorescence microscopy, nanotechnology, physics of metallic nanostructures,
  • experience in optical system construction, especially in building fluorescence microscopes,
  • experience in work in research grants,
  • good knowledge of English,
  • a strong motivation for experimental interdisciplinary work

A salary of 7000 PLN (before fees and taxes) will be paid during 12 months in accordance to the rules of NSC with possible extension up to 48 months. (More information in Polish here.)
